Although I'm pretty confident that most AGP techniques can be transferred directly into growing watermelon I would like to know a bit more about there growing problems including likes and dislikes. Are they subjected to calcium deficiencies like the AGP, I have read they can become hollow inside in some cases.

Normal date for pollination?

Do they grow right until harvest?

Are they all good to eat? Mine was very tasty.

Fungi, Bacteria, Teas, pH level?

Hmm...so many darn questions and I haven't mastered the AGP yet!

For me in Minnesota

Always transplant. I start my plants in early March.

Pollination on or before June 20. Definitely not later than July 1st.

They slow grow in September when the weather cools.

Great to eat as long as they are ripe.

Watch for rot. I put boards horizontally under melons to get them off the ground.

I do not grow AGP, since they fit in my category "If you can't eat them...". Of course that is somewhat heretical around here.
