Well somthing has happened to our mellons this yr. so it looks like our season is over.

HAve to take a detailed look and try to find out why.

Captain, I'm sorry about it being the end of your watermelon fun for this season. I have a single plant, so one bit of bad luck or a mistake in fertilize or watering could mean the end of my season.Just try to figure out what happened and start planing for good results next year.Boulder must be a very difficult place to grow as I have learned watermelons are a very heat loving plant.

Very sorry to hear, post some pictures. Its been tough here also with all the rain and cool temps. I have no fair melons set now because of the shape they split. I will set melons on the fair plants for fall now.

Gosh darm fox dug it up.

I think i know why, i sprayed Fish fert on the whole patch and may have put a little extra on the mound.

I probably will never use fish just for that reason. It brings in animals. Dave B found a neighbor dog rolling on his melon plants because it like's fish.

I almost had that happen again this year, but was lucky to catch Maddie! I tell my neighbor more now when I'm using Fish/Seaweed..I still think it is a great...it also helps to dilute it down a bit more. Compost tea is also non-smelling and good to use...just can't make it in large enough batches and I'm not as much into the chemical fertilizing as Melon Man ;-). However, hate to see our seasons ruined due to a organic fertilizer! :-)
