I have 1 set on a side vine from the stump & 1 set on the main vine. How long do i wait to cut the side if at all ?
The side one is older & a big cuke size. The main is a week old & small half banana size. Thanks

Depends on what you are aiming for.If you want the biggest melon possible choose your best one and stick with it.If you just want some nice melons then try growing several.

No i want a big one so my question was which is better? In pumpkins its always the main vine. Is the same true for watermelen? The side fruit is bigger cause its older at this point.

If the melon on the main is ahead of the growth of the melon on the side vine at the same age and you have no date you need the melon ready by then by all means pull the larger melon and stick with the younger and faster growing one on the main vine.
