A few people expressed interest in some seed from my melon.I would not have recommended these seed to anyone as the melon I raised and all others that tried to set on that plant had an odd shape to them. Anyway, I would have happily provided seed to anyone who wanted them but after cutting the melon and looking at the seed they seem to nearly all be immature. They are very thin and small and many of them are cracked. So I do not feel it would be worthwhile to send any of these out to my melon growing friends.

I recommend that you test fire a few of the seeds and see if do germinate. That way you get a pretty good idea.

I opened a small melon (around 100 pounds) a month or so ago because the vine died, and it didn't have any viable seeds. It's one of the problems growing the giants. It really does take a full 90 days to get seeds back from the fruit.

Agree with the Melon Man, plant 5 random seeds, you never know. I've had similiar "failures" only to be pleasantly surprised with successful germinations.

Ever see a 1097 Beachy pumpkin seed? It looks like a watermelon seed! LOL
