Wow, I believe 268 is the current WR. So close. Way to go Bill Edwards!!! I can't believe one that big was grown that far north.

Congrats to Bill & Frank on their monster melons. It just goes to show that monster watermelons can be grown in the north. Will we see a new WR soon? I think we'll see one within the next 3 years. Keep up the great work.

PS...wonderin what Bright Farm's did this year, as they don't take their melon's to a "Certified GPC" Weigh-off?? Peace, Wayne
PPS...or at least that is who I think holds the record??? Could be wrong??? In Hope, Arkansas?? All help appreciated!!

Yes, it is Brights in Hope Ak that hold the record. The best you can normally see is the watermelons listed when they are selling the seeds.

Looks like they had a 179, 161, 201, and 171. Not much else is listed this year.

So neat to see the Giants in the melon growing community, going to official GPC sites!!! I wonder how long it will take the Bright's to become official!!!! Peace, Wayne
