I'm really fighting disease right now. One of my plants at the edge of the patch has gotten some yellow spots. I'm afraid it will spread. I have been spraying fungicid once a week but it rains every day. This may sound ignorant but does funcide wash off should I spray after every rain or stick to once a week? Should I pull the affected plant. It has a good melon on it but the plant is not far from my best one. I have one 25 days measuring 113 the best I have ever had at this point, but I'm afraid if I'm having this much trouble now it will never make it to maturity.

I too have just noticed some disease in my garden.I just noticed today my cantaloupe patch is being devestated by powdery mildew. I knew something was wrong but didn't know what it was until today. These plants mix right into my lower watermelon vines.Does anyone think this will spread to my watermelons? If so, what is the best thing to spray with to combat this?

It came a flood today. Just sprayed Sunday. I have never had this much trouble with disease. It has been cloudy and rainy here for what seems like a month. I found a pamplet from the extension service that says to spray 24 hours before expected rain fall and after each event, but that is way more than recommened on the label. I'm afraid I'll have to risk burning them up to hold off disease. Dennis you probally need to spray and get a hold of the mildew it will spread fast. It seems to affect gourds, pumpkins, and squash quicker, but it will spread fast if we don't get some sun. I think my problem may be anthranose.

I spray each week & you must alternate fungicides to be effective. Most say that once dry they won't wash off. The rain does however make any disease problem worse.
