Is anyone growing any of the Brights 246, 262 or 268 seeds this year? What cross has everyone made this year?

I would like to grow a Brights 246, 262 or 268 seed, know where you can find one ? Or the 157 BRIGHT especially.

I have grown the 246 I ran out of seeds last year. Most of them have exceptional length 37+ but could use some girth. If I grew them again I would like to cross them with one of Frank Mudds melons or maybe Chris's 213 to give them some girth. They were some of the best shaped melons I have grown. I have heard the 268 is very hard to germinate. They don't have any 246's in the catalog anymore, might have to call. I would like to try them again. The 229 are suppost to have great length too. I would also like to get my hands on the 157, but I have also heard it is hard to talk Mr. Bright out of one.

I grew a 246 last year, as well as the 229, really wet, awful year, biggest melon was 97#. This year I crossed the 97# with the 202 Bright, and I just pulled the melon off this plant, it went 151 pounds, was 40" long.

i have a 229x246 growing still, starting to slow down now, taping around 175 by the OTT measurements. Another horribly wet year here in west central MO!

What was the girth on the 40"? 40" is great length. Seems like most of Mr. Brights melons are long. The smallest girth I have on a 197 Mudd is 55". Marty had a 62" girth on his 251 Mudd. If we could get 40" melons with 55-60", we'd have some big watermelons. With my luck I would instead of getting the best of both, I would get short skinny melons. I would still like to try the cross.

Girth on my 151 was 47 inches. The melon was growing well, then had 6 inches rain in 1 week, and the plant went down despite spraying with Kocide/Chlorothalonil regularly..
