Looking for ideas. Here is some I have started on.
1. Burned patch off to kill weeds and add potash
2. Maple and oak leaves
3. wood ashes
4. Cow manure
5. Corn huskes
6. Will try to plant rye if I get it in in time
I may try to talk to the super market about some old bannanas to add phosphorous

Coffee grounds are excellent for the garden. They break down slowly and are full of nutrients. I stop by some local Starbucks nearly every day. They have a national program called "grounds for the garden" and sometimes I'll get as much as 40 pounds of used grounds from just one store. And surprisingly, the PH of used coffee grounds is near neutral.

That is a good idea. I think we have a local coffee shop, but I think the nearest starbucks is about 40 miles.

Applying a little dolomitic limestone will help keep your PH in line and help to break down these soil ammendments.

If coffee grounds are good as a soil amendment and full of nutrients would a coffee tea be benifical to the growing plant?

Coffee "tea" is too acidic for most plants.
