Anyone have any watermelon plants left that they don't want ?
I may have done a stupid thing. In an effort to not make the same mistakes i did last year, i have found a new worse one to make. I had such bad disease problems last year i was determined do better this year with my spraying. I sprayed earlier with half rate Daconil so as to not hurt my plants. This week I used tebuconazole, as in bayer disease control. I have used it before on my pumpkins with no problems & read where it is used on squash/pumpkins. It is used against anthracnose, my #1 problem. Well that was Sunday, the plants all look nice & healthy & green no sign on disease….but they have slowed their growth to a crawel. Only about 1 inch per day now !

Anyone know if they will start to grow again ?????????

Anyone have any plants ??? I will come get them if nearby or can they be shipped ??
I have given away all my backup except 1.

I wish I could help, but in the same boat, gave all backs-ups to folks at church. Give them a few days and maybe they will grow out of it.
Good luck with them and keep us posted on the outcome.

I have a 214 Bright that was planted much later than the rest of my plants. Its just starting to vine. If you think you can transplant it, its yours. Only problem is I'm at St. Simon island in GA. I'll give you directions and you can go get it.

HI Chris, I would be willing to bet the plants will start back up again, they just need to work the pesticide through their system. Keep up your regular care. I think you will be better off that way than trying to replant. (The plants already have established roots.)

Hey Chris, I just read this post & my heart goes out to you. I sprayed toward the end of the season last year with a Bayer product & a day or 2 later was when I noticed my 207 was in serious decline.I used a product called Bayer Advanced Disease Control. I may have used it at the wrong strength & after noticing the rapid decline of the vine I wish I hadn't used it at all. Sorry, but I gave away all my extra plants. I'm with big moon, baby them for a while and previously healthy young plants like that are likely to recover and go on to do well for you.Of course it doesn't hurt to get hold of some backups if you can find them. It's just so far into the season .....

Update, Good news=Plants are starting to grow again. Did 2.5 inches yesterday. Thats still way too slow for their size.
Bad news= most of the vines are cracking at the area where they had stoped. Saping at those cracks too.

Plants seem to have recovered from my stupidness. Growing 6-8 inches per day. All the main vines cracked, but most of the fingers are ok. I have some backups in place just in case. Thanks guys
