I have had trouble all year with stump rot. Most of my stumps are completely hollow now. I have been treating them over the last few months with captan powder. Every time I get some more rot I scrape it off dry it, and cover it with captan. The stumps are covered inside and out. Only used on the stump. There are recommendations on the label for mixing, but has nothing about using the concentrated powder. What do you guys think. Is it ok to eat them?

I had the first one dye this week. The melon wasn't doing good so I just let the stump rot away. I pulled it up too day. From the way it smelled I don't think Andrew Zimmerman could eat it.

I never covered my stumps, but I have put a small fan out in the garden with something covering it and let it blow on the stump for a few days and it dried mine out nice.

I have also had a fan on them. Most of the problem has been on the inside. I guess thats why it keeps coming back.
