Has anyone tried growing these large Turkish watermelons?

I bought seeds from that site and also competition size seeds from p&p seeds.I hope to see how large I can get them to grow separately as well as to cross pollinate the two varieties togethor.The seeds from the crosses this year would be interesting for next year.My first year with carolina cross netted (1) 156 pound,(1) 148 pound.I spent alot of time looking into the history of the turkish seeds on that site and they quite often achieve massive girth but not as much in length.Girth cften exceeds 75inches.They also do resemble a c.c. Thats why I ordered c.c.,s that had good length to cross with them .Should be a interesting study.Thanks,mike.

Thanks,I have seeds from 168 johnsonx157 bright,also 267 edwardsx255 mitchell.I hope these will be good enough.If you have a variation that may be a better fit let me know.Iam going to cross both ways on each variety and hopefully have a nice formula to plant the following season.I talked to a gentleman that came from that area in turkey and he personally measured several over 70 inches in girth.The straight length averaged around 28 inches.He stressed that these were field grown near rivers edge with pigeon droppings as fertilizer.They did not get special treatment.As such my curiousity rose.Looking forward to this and next years crop...Thanks again,mike.

whats the deal i looked them up on ebay 1 picture shows round fat melons the other shows melons that look like the cc melons believe there was 100seed on this 1 .
