If everyone had to rate there best overall plant right now, which seed would it be.
There has been alot of good seeds this year, and I thought this might be like a first semister report card for 2011.

Mine would be the 285 Edwards, it has been aggressive from the beginning, thrown long females, holds up in the heat well, and has overall been alittle ahead of all the rest.

my best looking plant would be the 264 kent but all of them good. The 264, 291, 260, all put nice melons on.

my 151 johnston has been the best and the 291 kent was close second until yesterday when it went down. it had a split in the vine that had heales up nicely when i pulled it up it had rotted in the ground. it was my fault the plant was leggee when it planted it and i put to much dirt around it. I knew better but done it anyway. next is the 251 mudd and 230 kent

Of my early plants, the 35 kent is the best with the 291 close behind. The 285 edwards is by far the best late plant. If it keep going , its going to catch some of the early plants ! The 239 is again middle of the pack, just like last year.

291, 255 Mitchell, and 113 Kent nearly identical. 268 would be right in their if I let it. 264 Kent got slowed down over a busted waterline, but hit it with some nitro and its rolling again. 291 throwing the biggest females so far. 255 and 264 throwing long ones.

100 Masterson 2010, and the 193 White 2010. They are off to a really nice start but the weather has put them at a standstill for the past couple weeks.

I don't know which is best. One of them is built like a tank but doesn't have the spread or number of fingers and secondaries. I like how it looks though. The fastest growing one ,with the biggest spread and longest main, is thin vined(for now at least) with lots of secondaries.

170 Mudd,168 Crosby( Beast) ,223 Mitchell,195 Mudd,291 Kent, 195 Zuerner. The 168 crosby and the 170 Mudd have surprised me. everybody else is doing real good. The 168 and 170 are just growing really fast.

It's probably not fair to my plants to select a best grower since they are spread out in germination times. I think my largest and best growing plant right now is my 211 Boyette. It has been my biggest plant since the beginning. My 113 Kent and 255 Mitchell are now coming on the fastest I think. All were hindered a lot by the 100 plus miles per hour winds that passed through here on June 21.

113 Kent may be getting a little ahead of the pack now. Still close.

I have a couple 198's from Mr. Bright.Planted them a little later but they seem to be doing well so far. It's a little cool here in the mountains to plant watermelons too early I think.
