'11 is a bust. Won a few local blues (where Prof. Older didn't show)--all at below 120#. Would be ashamed to take one of them to Hope, Nashville, or Allardt and it would be dangerous to on-lookers who might "bust a gut" laughing at my feeble offerings.
Re: Next Year --- Excavations for next spring are underway. Have a 1+ acre pond x 6' deep that is vastly overstocked with yearling bass (4 to 7 inches). Planning a fishing rodeo for neighborhood kids with modest prizes---all but the very largest (fish, not kids) are going into the bottom of next year's melon holes as starter fertilizer. Am I about to make a big mistake???

Try the kids under one hill and the fish under another and let us know the results. I think any benefit from the fish would be long gone by springtime. I would concentrate on PH, calcium and iron right now. You might want to bring in some extra topsoil also.

Good luck on getting those fish away from the kids. My grandkids want to put them ALL on the stringer no matter how big/small they are.

Do the soil test thing and remember ... too much of a good thing can kill. Speaking from experience..Do what the test says.

I'm afraid if you plant those fish you'll need Moss Hill to harvest all the coons you'll be growing.

Throw the fish in the compost pile!mix with other compost! then it goes in soil

Fish is for nitrogen and it leachs out fast. I agree get soil test wait till spring to mess with the nitro. Then I'd use blood meal if needed.
