Could anyone growing giant watermelons advise me how long I should let the secondary vines grow before I end them and bury. Thanks Phil

most people don't end watermelon vine or bury them that is only for pumpkins

I let them to grow 5 feet long, but that is to fix the room I have for them, not because I believe that it is the best size. Maybe a little more would be better.

Thanks for the info. Plants are 15 ft. long and secondaries are reaching lengths of 8 ft. Very strong and healthy plants, fruits are about14" long but could use some warmer weather to help reach my goal.
