I'm trying to grow a giant melon this year. Can anyone with experience give out some pointers?

Do you bury vines?
Do you prune vines?
How many fruits do you leave on the vine?
Do you encounter "stem stress"?
Any other pointers?

Thanks in advance!

Check out www.melonman.com his sight has all the answers to your questions. I have one growing, but have better luck growing big pumpkins. They like more heat then what we get up here.

Kilr, The Man for watermelons is Lowell Hatten, He brought a 201 pound monster to Canby this year! He lives in the Tri Cities of Washington. Sorry I didn't get his E-Mail but he was willing to part with seeds/knowledge. Man that thing was huge we all wanted to chow on it but Lowell wouldn't have it.
