Greetings all, it's great to be home. There is nothing like a few months away to make one appreciate the good old US of A.
After completing my research, I was able to "nose" around the countryside, looking for ideas to help in growing "grandes melones."
Saw some things that might be of interest to some of you and as soon as I get settled in and mow the grass (what happened to the "terrible" winter I escaped from?) I'll post my observations.
One note: If you think we growers of melons and pumpkins are passionate about our "hobby," we don't hold a candle to Costa Rica's orchid growers(the country has over 1200 varities)---the "premier" growers hire armed guards to stand watch over their flowers, even while they are on display at the national festival.
