Sowed seeds thursday night. I am going with 4 later plants, 1 has been in the ground now 3 weeks for a early August weighoff.
Seeds that were started are.
2- 282 Dawson
2- 251 Dawson
2- 102 Dawson
2- 255 Mitchell
2- 274 Kent
2- 228 Knight
Now with only 4 spots open, only the strongest will see dirt.
So what is everybody else planting? And what do you think will be the HOT seed this year?

I started 8 seeds Thursday night myself, 7 of the 8 are out of the ground now.
1- 239 Leonard
1- 282 Dawson
1- 255 Mitchell
1- 272 Peden
1- 228 Clementz
1- 165(B) Cantrell
1- 110 Bright
Waiting to see if the 260 Clementz breaks ground, if not tomorrow, will start another.
Probably start a couple more end of next week for just in case, I've got plenty of room, don't have time for too many over 8.

Ice Man, I went with a modified way of the way you do seeds this year. Put in soil point down to where I could just see top of seed. This made it very easy to see early on o. Anything was going on with the seeds, when they started moving.

I am growing three 171 Masterson, two 179 Masterson and one 285 Edwards. It worked out this way because I first sent Nathan seeds that I thought were good that I had a lot of. These were the first grafted and so they were the largest nicest plants and so these were the ones I decided to go with. I later sent Nathan my best seeds and he did grafts from the ones that germinated. I made the decision to pull one of my big plants to make room for one of the big name plants Nathan produced for me. So I pulled one of the 179's and replaced it with my 285 Edwards. It came from seed Chris Kent provided me with last year. I also have a 178.5 Mudd, a 35 Kent and a 113 Kent, all grafted,at the bottom of my patch that I will use for pollinators and as possible producers of seed melons. I now see that since these plants have grown so fast, I could have easily gone with the smaller plants and still had a very early and quality start to my season. BTW, I had my first female blossom open today. I hadn't noticed it, and Chris was here to take a look at my plants and he noticed it and pointed it out to me.
