I am looking for a spreadsheet on benchmarks and a daily measurement/growth chart. I have 2 good plants going, and a melon which is nearly doubling in size daily, and want to see how I measure up to some of the past top melons. Thanks, Brad.

The numbers I got from a friend last year to reach 250 were: day 27--100, day 40--150, day 55--200, day 90ish--250

My 251 doesn't qualify as a top melon but you will need to be gaining better than that to reach 300. Here are her numbers: day 27 100.3, day 40--155, day 55--201, day 92--251. He was real close with his estimates!!!

I wouldn't count out any smaller then these melons on the same day.If you have good growing conditions, weather, soil, water, nutrients in place.Your melon could grow a 1/2 lb to 1 lb more per day then these two did.Lets say you get 45 days at this rate you could gain 22 to 45 lbs, which would put the 260.5 at 305.5 lbs.So it aint over till it's over!Good Luck to awl!

at 16 days the 260 was 48 lbs,20 days 73 lbs,I thought you might be looking for younger marks. It's raining out so I have time to post.I hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I have looked the site over and can't find the ott/circ. chart for melons. Anyone have a link for that? That way I can use these marks against mine.

Thanks, yes, I found that one after a bit of further looking. Can't wait to get to a measurable size to see how my year is going. The squash and pkn plants are quite slow this year for me.

My best melon hit 80 pounds OTT today at 27 days post pollination. It looks like I may have another year with a top melon around 200 pounds; if I can manage to keep the stump from rotting. Well, maybe I can at least get a new personal best this year. :o)

My biggest melon so far is my Dawson 282(i pollinated it with the 228 Mudd) with and OTT of 144.5 which according to chart is around 90lbs and it is 28 days post pollination! My fastest growing melon however is my 239 Kent(pollinated with 282 Dawson) last 7 days growth is a total of 29 OTT inches! It went from 102 OTT to 131 in a week! It is a long melon and has a huge beautiful vine!

What's a good ott at 10 day mark? Going to try to compile as much info on my first year as I can. I've grown AG's before, but not watermelons. Just trying to put together some numbers so I can better myself, and maybe others in the future.

Not sure how hot y'all have been, but it's hot here! I've got some nice plants, and they are off of your 282. Day 10 measurements on plant #1, 69.25" ott, plant #2, 71" ott. These melons and plants seem to be loving life! I just hope I can finish em off, and not have any catostrophic failures!
