I have used these foe years and they work GREAT. I wouldn't move a melon with out one. I have 4 of them. They also work good for cabbage and small pumpkin.

I have found the 2x4 can pinch fingers as the watermelons get wider and longer(like a 45" Long 217 Vaughn)...I know on my 195 lbers...I have used the 4x4 pumpkin tarps and they work great...however, I do also use my 2 watermelon tarps on smaller melons and they are great.

Yeah, I got a 2x4 last week, and upon receiving it realize, it's not big enough to carry a large watermelon on. I guess I'll be using my old wool blanket again this year.

I have a melon tarp and its always used by the weigh off people to transport the melons to and from the scale. I saw the movers use it to move every melon (approx 25 -30) to and from the scale last year having weights from about 80 lbs to 251 lbs. They seem to love it.

Didn't mean to say anything bad about the one I got. I just wish I had ordered the next larger size.

I used a military surplus body stretcher. It's too long, but I just fold it over. It has really nice handles, and I haven't grown anything yet that couldn't be carried with it.
