I wonder if it due to great genetics ? Or could it be possible that all of these growers are grafting ? Some have suggested that Bartoli's seeds may be tainted with disease but if these growers aren't growing on grafted plants and are growing giant melons then I would think these seeds must somehow be OK.

I talk to the Italian growers a lot, never heard the talk of his seeds being diseased?

Tom, a GWG officer told me Bartoli's seeds may possibly be diseased since he is raising melons in diseased soil. He is a melon farmer by profession and his commercial melons are resistant to his soil disease. Carolina Cross melons however are not and so he got the idea of grafting to a resistant rootstock. I was warned if I got some of his seeds, I may introduce new disease into my soil. But I am not overly concerned about that.

I doubt every grower in Italy grows grafted plants, I'd plant everyone I could get my hands on!

Well start a plant TD in a pot & send a leaf to a lab. I think I will do this myself.
