What is the size potential for watermelons that are not grafted or treated with growth stimulants?

Smoky Mtn Pumpkin (Team GWG)

The 291 is the WR for non grafted followed by 285 , 282 & 2, 274's
So anything in that range is possible. that said I (and several other top growers) feel 300+ is doable in non grafted & should be seen soon !

In the long term, I think it's unlimited. We just have to do a better job of controled crosses.

In the short term I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple 300+ in 2013 ----IF---- good growers still put effort into the traditional method.

I agree with Dave. But I also think grafting will always offer an edge in potential weight.

The problem is that grafting does absolutely nothing to advance the genetics of the watermelon.
