what products are beneficial
to use so many companies claim their products
are the best but i want to invest in products
that the people that grow giant watermelons
know what actually works before buying something
that is not going to help

Any of the manure will work if it's been aged/composted 1+ years. Mykos work. Do a soil test and FOLLOW RECOMMENDATIONS. Ground cover for weed control. Irrigation system that fits your budget. Preventative disease and pest control for your area. Good seeds.

If not a member join the GWG. News letter coming out soon with lots of how too!

A lot of keepers of livestock make their manure available for free. if you have a way to haul it, you might want to place an ad for free manure in the free section of your local Craigslist.

My garden is serious sand, and as such I would concentrate my efforts on producing a really good stump area (6' wide, 2' deep) for each plant. I have found that this works well for early and mid season, but my season craps out if you don't have manure spread all the way out to the edges of the vine area. I am getting beat by farmers that can put a deep layer across the entire patch. I will do both a stump area and a wide spread area this year and hope for the best.
