With the tropical depression heading our way, and bringing up to 5 inches of rain, I guess us eastern growers will find out how our patchs drains, or we'll need some scuba gear!
I guess with a good 4-5 inches of rain, one should try and replace nitrogen, soon after the patch dries, and stay on top of Fungicide's. Maybe it will wash all the squash bugs away. Any other advice?

I have NO IDEA on what to do for the squash bugs. Sprayed on the 3rd, 2in of rain late yesterday and finding bugs this morning. grrrrrrrr

Asana or Mustang Max works on squash bugs but I don't have hands on experience with heavy rain.

Thanks all. Been using Asana, Bifenthrin, Permethirin and even Seven XLR. Getting good nockdown I'm just whining about the numbers and very little residual because of untimely rains.

Don't worry Ice, with the height of those beds the flood waters won't even reach the root zone!

It looks like we will be getting a good deal of rain here too. It seems that it is either feast or famine. We either have not enough rain or too much!

BroDave, One thing I learned a few years ago....spray early season, and often. Seems once they take up, nearly impossible to rid them. Now I start spraying very,very early, and it seems to help a lot.

Zenith is the most effective one I have used. 75% merit. I don't eat'em. I know the feelin John. for years seem like we could count the number of summer rains we got on one hand. Then the last two year have been complete washouts. I'll take the rain though. Maybe not so good for melons but great for hay crops and cattle.

Dang that's a lot of water. I thought we had it bad whe we had a gully washer last evening and had 2 inches in an hour. Then another 1.5 inches after that overnight.
