As 7/1 and mid-growing season (prox) approaches, how y'all's melons progressin'. Compared to last year, my estimate is I am about 3 1/2 weeks behind. Issues contributing to lag: weather, health, and lassitude. Would like to see reports from others. Good luck and regards, Clutch

I was behind here early on, due to the wet cold weather, but I was able to play catch up thanks to a wide row cover that was over the plants until Mid June. I am hoping to get some nice sets in the next couple of weeks. 10" of rain in June so far!

Way behind here as well. The cold spring set us back some, but they are starting to take off with this warmer weather. Plants are @ 10-12' long with a few secondaries out about 3-4'. I figure we have @ 50+ feet of vine on each plant, so I expect it will be another week or two before we're pollinating.
Good luck all.

Stinks here as well. 3 weeks behind to start, but plants caught up fairly fast. Problem now is rain, and more rain, plants need nitrogen, but setting fruit, so don't want to mess up pollinations. 3 plants have keepers, and the other 6 should have them next week.

Earliest I've pollinated. I’ve got a 260.5 Clements and a 260 Kent going- each crossed with the other. No rain, just 105 degrees yesterday! 100 today.
