I have caught 6 mice with peanut butter, but still lots more. They haven't bother the traps in days. They don't seem to bother the commercial bait stations. Any suggestions or stuff you have had sucess with. Thanks

Chris, here is what I do for catching them mices. I cut a small square of panty hose, place your peanut butter in the square of panty hose and tie to the bait part of the trap. The little teeth of mice will get caught in the panty hose and you will have your critter. And sometimes you can reuse the same peanut butter. Good Luck.

I am a big fan of the poison peanut butter pellets. They are listed for moles and voles but I would imagine that mice would like to eat them also. They are lethal and effective.

For house mice I have wrapped raw bacon around the part of the trap where the bait goes. although if they are voles (Meadow mice with the short tails) I don't know if they would eat it.

The barn cat's here don't really eat the darn voles they prefer cardinals, bluebirds and any rare bird you can think of. I wasn't too happy as the voles were having their way with my melons at that time. Grrrr.

You already have the best bait money can buy Chris, cantaloupes. Mice seem to be drawn in from miles around when the lopes start to ripen. Clear a nice large area around the garden don't let the grass get to tall or better yet put down some driveway rock. They don't like exposing themselves. Then just like everybody else has said. Snap traps poison glue boards bacon and peanut butter all works to some degree. Good luck.

I have had great success using seeds...corn seed, pumpkin seed, watermelon seed. In order to pull this off, you have to use a regular screw driver to pry up the bait holder, put your seed in place then, use a pair of pliers to crimp the holder down over the seed.
