I have read several articles that contend that a weekly spraying of melon leaves with milk is about as good a control for leaf fungus as any chemical treatments. I will probably use a milk anti fungul treatment on a regular basis this year. I have read several articles as well on the subject Dennis. I have read that it helps with overall plant growth and that it also feeds beneficial microbes in the soil. I guess it would also help with calcium deficiencies.

Milk is an excellent preventative. I have used it many times with pumpkins and long gourds which are a magnet for powdery mildew. Doesn't do much good after the fact but weekly applications at around 30-40% help to fend off any problems if you are consistent. Puts a nice shine on the leaves too.

Pork hop, Is it better to use milk from the dairy case at a store or mix up some powdered milk and spray? Didn't know what the difference would be for the melon plants.
