Alright ... I'm gonna give these a shot next year...what type of soil / conditions do these things like?..ph?..npk levels?thinking about planting where my mater plants are this year...hey smokey ?.. Any suggestions?..thanks!!

heat is what they need ! Soil ... pretty much like the pumpkins. Where you are , i would plan on a larger pot to keep inside or a nice hoop house. They won't grow in cold soil.

Grow'em like you do those tomatoes you'll be fine. I would wait till the soil warms up. A May plant will pass an April plant in a hurry here. Does your soil warm up by first of May?

Depends on the winter but around there...I've got good lights to start them..when should I start seeds for first week in May plant?...thanks

start seeds april 15. unless you want a bigger plant. then earlier.
