GWG Committee

North America

Earlier this last spring we were asked by several growers if we were ever going to go back to having just one category. At that time, we had a lot of members that had paid their 2015 dues so we felt it was too late to do anything then. The committee members did talk about it then and now and this is what we took into consideration: membership success, GPC, Guinness Book of Records and GWG goals.

So taking all of this into consideration we will now have one category starting for the 2016 growing year. No matter if you grow your melon the traditional way or by grafting, in a greenhouse or basement; if it looks like a melon and the GPC weigh off site that you take it to accepts it in sound condition, it will count in the GWG top 20. Dues will stay the same in 2016 at $25.
