I was wondering if it should hold true, that there should be at least 100 feet of total vine growth before allowing the pollination to take place.Never had nice shaped melons set this early on the diamonds and cc,s.Since growth is not as plentiful or at that desirable point as wanted,I would be making a wise choice to cull all till then, yes?Small plant does equal small fruit? Thanks all,and grow em big !

I've always gone by 100 sq feet.
10x10.
Some growers say 150 or more.
If you have 100 feet of vine, you should be close.
Ever figure out what was causing the yellowing of your plants?

HI Esheel.Believe it was a combo of too wet to often, soil in pots were depleting of nutrients, and they really liked that dose of epsom salt. All have made great comebacks and I had to increase patch size to fit all of them in plus back ups.All got a spot and a home.Including the diamonds there are 28 plants.WHEW !Patch increased in size at the expense of the added work.Oh well ,maybe I can get one competitive this year !
