Its a week later so I haveto assume that winning melon out there grew atleast one pound.

What you guys think?

What size bags do you melon guys use?....the ones you fill w sand?..

i think Spence is using 1 lb size.
most seem to use the 10 or 20 lb size from what i have seen at the weighoffs !
Frank uses the 50 lb size. but this is not recomended for the average grower. Takes years of practice to use that size.

Jerry Vaughn's Russellville melon weighed 246.

It was a beauty too Lloyd! We took our 238 Holloway melon and it weighed 187 lbs. I think Jerry is planning on taking that melon to Cullman next weekend. So that is one big melon that we know will be there!
