Ok the board is quiet, so lets get something going... Put in a plug for your seed and let everyone know what you think about it... the pros and cons if any... such as shape, how the plant was, ect, ect... and Go!!!

OK Lindley you;re digging for ?
My favs for 2016 are 251- 257- 229
I had a 251 that went for 120lbs. in 20 dap then i killed the the plant with too much juice so ended up bein a 251x257 cross and i couldn't tell ya how many fat melons i culled off of this plant,
251 and 257 were most aggressive plants i have ever grown with the 229 lindley close behind.
These would be my picks if i had to choose but i will plant most of the 2016 Kents that i can get a hold of!!!

Well I didn't grow the 229 last year but it was an amazing plant til it popped... I think the mother the 241.5 Glasgow provides some of the best late season growth that there is for a traditional plant. I'm growing 2 plants from the 229 Lindley this year. I grew 2 plants from the 232.75 this year but I had a terrible year with gummy stem. That part of the patch is out of the rotation this year also.

My 188 state record is 251xopen but it had good company.
The 302 Kent on one side the 257 Boyette on the other and the 295.5 Kent behind it.
So may have potential.

290.5 Terry, very similar to the 302 Kent. The 302 is a 251 Kent pollinated with a sibb, whereas I selfed it. Melon grew steady for somewhere around 100 days and went 5% heavy. 5th largest in the world this past year. With more experience I believe it could have gone over 300. Very thick rind. Time will tell but I think this seed has lots of potential!!!

Hard decisions.
Have all the 2016 Kents.
255 Mitchell.
1 251 Kent left.
Couple of 272.5 Neptunes(K and E).
257 Boyette.
Marvin also had a 193 from a couple years ago.
I found that to be more aggressive than any of the others I have started.
Probably only room for 2.

I figure if I can get a 235lb melon and a 213lb melon from ungrafted and unamended soil I've got good enough genetics in my seed.
