I have a 7 day old watermelon, on a generic Carolina cross plant, and was excited about its size. It is probably less than mediocre, but I was wondering, what is a food day 10, 20, 30, etc., measurement?
I was also wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of size they have seen from their big ones at specific dates. Even estimated weights by a certain date would be helpful.
What about benchmarks, are there watermelon benchmarks?
Please help if you can. Thanks!

With the young melons you wanna pay more attention to how they start growing around day 12–14. They should really start taking off at that time. My goal is to hit 300 and been told I need to be at 200 by day 50. Takes a long time to fully grow one out and anything can happen in tbat time, its a marathon not a spring. Good luck!

I only have about 80 days of growth left. may be able to get good late growth, with a polytunnel over it, but my plant isn't really big, and my fruit is only baseball thickness, and twice that in length at day 8. I doubt I'll get over 150, but I'd be surprised for even 100 pounds, so I would be extremely happy with 200 pounds period. Good luck to you too!
