My LG's are starting to slow down. I understand to keep them on the vine until they stop growing completely, but do I keep it on the vine to further mature after the growth has stopped? Pretty fun growing these things, just want to make sure to pick them off the vine at the right time. Thanks for the help. John

My plan is to harvest as soon as growth stops as they can start to develop splits if left on too long. Only got a couple seasons experience, so love to hear more opinions. Unless you've got extra hands around come harvest time, I highly recommend strapping that gourd to a board before cutting it free. They can be gimpy and break easily...yup, learned the hard way...LOL!
