I'm thinking of growing them but have a few questions. I don't have much room maybe just a 4 foot wide trellis. Is that enough for 1 or 2 plants? Where's a good place to get seeds? I've checked some seed catalogs and ebay but came up empty. Thanks Dave

4 feet will give you enough for one plant. You will not find long gourd seeds in a catalog. Send me a bubble with a note stating you would like some long gourd seeds. Shannon gr8pumpkin.net

Well, my trellis is only 3 feet wide and I ran four plants up it last year. It was a mess and I didn't do very well.
It is important that you really prepare the ground under the plant, since it doesn't get much of a chance for secondary rooting when up in the air like that.

OK, what's the biggest little state? Got some LG seeds from the East Coast...I'm hung up on the notion that seeds might do better in the areas in which they were grown??? Drop me an email if you buy into this theory, and I'll set you up with some LG seeds. Duff (asselinduffy@aol.com)
