Bob Attaway gave me a long gourd that he had started and wants me to grow it this year. It is approx. 3-4 inches tall. I'm going to put it next to a tree like he said but my question is this:

Does it grow the same way AG's do, except up a tree?
How do I protect it as it's growing?
Any pictures anywhere so I could see how it grows?
Someone help me, I have no idea where to start...Any links that you could post would be great. Thank you so much.

ALLY you ahve never heard of a gourd tree :) April had one in her 2005 diary.

Check out my 2006 diay. My parents grew some on an apple tree. They started our real slow due to the shade, but once they got up into the sun the vines went nuts and took over the tree. They said it was a real pain pulling all of the dead vines off the tree after the frost. This year they will just use a cattle panel on the side of the garage as a trellis.
