Recently I posted a message about long Long Gourds having a separate thread.
At the same time I sent an email to bp.com, so far no response.
I would appreciate a response from bp.com?
I encourage all Long Gourd growers to voice their opinion.

I believe the threads are getting way out of hand already...Someone going to BP.Com are doing so for a reason. Usually someone in for the first time was referred there because the want to grow pumpkins. Not some Southwest/european/green/longgourd/ type of thing...Believe I love this forum and everyone in it. I think an other gardening discussion forum is fine and more then enough is done for gourds and watermelon...growing is growing if we have to start discussing how to prune a rosebush I think we've lost what BP.Com started out to be.. Again Bob...not wanting to be hostile...Just taking longer everytime just to get through the first board...sorry for the Dennis Miller Rant...I could be wrong...but that's just my opinion...GrowEmBig! and Long! Sorry Bob, I didn't know you were looking for individual input. Being a LG virgin myself, I am really enjoying growing them this year. Having said that, I have searched this site and on ocassion have had to go elsewhere for the info I needed. I think the new " Watermelon growers forum" is just what people growing melons were looking for and I would fully support a long gourd growers thread for the same reason.

I know what bp.com stands for. I suggest you check out the General page before you tell me PUMPKINS?
This is a very respected web site for pumpkin and other growers.
I appreciate your response. Bob Attaway

I think bobs got a point, many pumpkin growers grow long gourds to, including the current world record holder in pumpkins joe jutras. Changing hardly used threads like recipes in the garden or the pumpkincam on the messageboards might be a possibility. Stating that this site is just for pumpkins would be far from the truth, veggies like onions, cabbage, carrots, marrows, tomatoes etc. have all been talked about or shown in pictures. Because of the many a grower growing gourds next to pumpkins i think its a good idea.

Bob I know alot of the europeans like to grow LG's and I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself next year, I understand your frustration. Maybe they need to find out what the interest is in starting an LG forum.

I'm all for a long gourd section, most pumpkin weigh offs now a days have long gourd competitions , the GPC recognizes the long gourds, and BP.com plays a big part in all the weigh offs sponsored by the GPC, so why not add its own thread?

Long Gourds are the fastest "new" past time of all the BP family & why not? They are way cool & take up very little space (comparatively).
I doubt that Ken checks this board very often. If it were in the "Website Related" section he'd probably have noticed.
I'll send him an email.

I was just joking, sorry Bob, didn't mean it to come across that way. I think a long gourd section would get a lot of action.

Great idea Bob, I think it time, like the cooks mentioned there are already some rarely used threads and I believe a long gourd thread would be very popular! Auston

I think it is a good idea, after all a Long Gourd is a type of squash is it not? If there is no room for a long gourd thread, then I would sujjest amalgamating "Fertilising & Watering" with "Soil preparation & Analysis"

Big Dave???? I didn't hear anyone criticize the work done by the folks running the site. Male menopause I guess. Alexsdad- you are right, there are several threads, just sift through the threads and select the one you want. On the main menu there are threads that are seldom used. This site is evolving and if there is sufficient interest then a separate LG thread should be considered. Just my opinion.

Big Dave the Hamr:
I am not whining, I am asking a question. There is a difference.
Like you I think Ken and the boys have done an excellent job with bp.com. Because of the success of bp.com is why I am trying to get Long Gourds listed as a separate thread, just like Watermelons and other Non Pumpkin entities.
I assume we disagree about this subject but I appreciate your time and opinion.

This will be my last Post on this subject.
If the guys who own bp.com and I understand they can do what ever they want and I respect that position.
If they choose to give LG growers a thread I wish to say thanks. If they do not I respect their opinion.
I want to thank all of the supporters which is about 90%.
Respectfully: Bob Ataway
