I have received several emails about the fact that 3 of the top 5 LG growers are also past World record pumpkin growers.
To the first correct answer who names all 3 of the past Pumpkin champs who is also in the top 5 LG growers I wish to extend my congratulations.
The past champs are not eligible, just having fun.

Craig, I do not remember how long Todd held the record, maybe someone can enlighten us.

I don't recall Todd Kline ever holding the WR. In 1999 he grew a 1036 which might have been the biggest for that year for a day or two but was beaten by the 1131 Checkon. But in earlier years there had been about 3 pumpkins heavier than 1036.
I guess I need some enlightening too :)

Todd Kline's World record Long gourd was 121.5" on September 16th 2006 at the Cornerstone weigh off in Barrie, Ontario.

I believe the record held until broked by Joe Jutras broke it with his 126.5" gourd on October 7th 2006 (I think I have the date right)

Brad:
I am using Todd's 1999 1036.5 as being a world champion. I could be wrong but Todd has the Orange Jacket.
My confusion might be that back then only Canadians were eligible for the Orange jacket.
If I am wrong I apologize: Bob Attaway

Bob, the orange jacket in 99 was for Canadian Champion, the world record holder was the 1131 Checkon that year. The next year the orange jacket was changed to World Champion. The record gourd held it's place for a couple of weeks, and I savored every minute till Joe beat it with his beautiful 126. I'm sorry for the confusion, but keep up the great work and fun, Bob.
