whats the perfect soil for Long gourds? what kind of soil does they like?

Good question. I think Joe Jutras grew his 2006 WR with a ph of around 6.0 rather than the usual 7.0.

okey,nice,where is the perfect place to grow em? does they like clay or sand soil? do they like composted soil?

Hello Albin--that is a good question but I doubt that anyone knows what the "perfect" soil is for LGs.
I do know that my LG soil tests show sandy loam,pH=6.8 and organic matter=10%.This is a multi year average from soil tests taken asap after LG is harvested.
Other nutrients are same levels as for giant pumpkins,in fact for long gourds,I use the same soil as I had tuned up for AGs and I try to avoid adding any new chemical fertilizer.
