I noticed LGs don't grow well with nights at only 50-54°F. Mine are growing just short of 4" a day at day 10-14.

Best is 122 Eaton (day 13) @ 35".

Sounds like Marty is the hot grower this year. Our long gourds are doing terrible. Way too much rain, cool temps and humidity have brought on terrible fungus problems. Only half the leaves are left and they are small and stunted. We will be lucky to break 70" this year. Next year they get moved to a spot with beter air circulation and room for a bigger trellis.

So far very well, don't want to jinx myself. At day 20 I'll post my best results. The LG's definitely love this stifling heat. 30+ degrees for seven days straight now.

Just posted in on the gpc board but it says weight. Anyway first place at the Iowa State fair at 101.5 inches.Wow Alan that is some growing. I was surprised these were that long being we had a cold July(record cold) They just keep going,
It is the 111 Urena x self.
The new one on the plant are jumping in the heat also now. Could be interesting come October.

Early pollinations slowed to 1-2"/day :-( Time will tell!
Good luck all!

I have a 125 Urena growing with the largest hitting 50.5 inches at day 14. We will need the weather to cooperate, but this is the longest I have had at this earliest of a date.
