How can you make your lg seeds have a better rate of germination? I hear they are hard to germinate.

They can be, depends on the seed and the method you use. Last year 6 out of 6 122 Eaton seeds popped in 3-5 days. 0-4 on the 124 Eaton. Personally, I think a constant temperature in the upper eighties in moist soil is your best bet.

You can file the edges of the seeds just like you do the pumpkin seeds. I agree with the upper 80's. I try for 88. I use a 15 watt lightbulb in a large beverage cooler, with the lid propped part way open. I use a thermometer and get it going with filled pots a few days before planting seeds. That way I know how much to prop the lid open for the proper temperature. Plus that gets the seed starting mix warmed up as well.

Ok I have a room in my house in the spring in the 90's because of sun i can leave door slightly open to maintain in the 80's
