I have moved my trellis this season and am noticing some of my gourds are curling. I believe the cause is from the sunlight. Do you guys have them curl? Does the curl straighten out? Should I shade the gourds? I have never had this problem in the past.

Sam is the trellis running north to south and are you planting on the west side? you know if its open and not covered yet on the eastern side when they start developing from the top I bet they are curling from the sun on that eastern side? I would hang some "shade curtains" on the east side till the foliage hangs over and shades the Lg's? Just my 2 cents?

I have had a few start out curly and end up straight. I think the extra weight as they grow will straignten them out.

Sam, my early gourds may start curly, I mean early, once they start packing on the pounds they should straighten out. I saw your diary, I wouldn't worry just yet.
