Just for the fun of it this year I let my main vine run...and run....and run! My goal was to run some bailing twine back and forth between my trellis and my shed and see if I couldnt get a gourd set hanging off of my shed. Currently I have a gourd that is 23 day's old today, 90" long. It's stll growing about 2" a day. The crazy thing is...this gourd is about 50 feet from the stump. Maybe next year I sould shoot for 60 or maybe 75 feet....just for fun!

My guess is under good conditions you can get 60 feet and more quite easily on the main vine, especially if you prune side vines some.I hope you give it a try.

Just went over 95 inches this morning....I'm guessing only a couple of more inches left in it.....not bad for 50' out on a old plant!
