Ok got 2 plants going up trellis, looking very good, there is not lots of room on the way up i got self made latter it 2x4s laced few inchs apart sideways all the way up & 4 ft wide! the mains are starting to take off as weather warms, will be at top in 1 week , the top has lots of room it is nice new trellis 12 ft X 15 ft ! , Question? Do i trim off the secondarys close to bottom & up a ways ? then once reachs top let them grow ? or let some grow up to top also? IT just seems that they will get crowded on the way up if i do not trim some off !! not sure ? also would the main not grow faster if some of lower ones were cut ? how many do i trim ?? THanks !!!

Let them grow, gives you more blossoms at the top. Trim what you want at top. The more you trim the more they grow !

Should you let the main go until there is no more room to optimize the number of secondaries? I only have about five more feet left until I will have to choose whether to terminate the main or curl it around.

I curl mine around, the more secondaries, the more blossomes you will have.
