Just wondering How much everyone waters once they have Gourds growing? Do you "pour" it on or just keep it moist? Caleb...How regularly did you water the gourds from Day 10 to day 30?

Right now I'm trying to grow large plants, lots of fish/kelp biota max and molasses. When the real gourds appear I'll water as much as 5-10 gallons per day per plant. It's almost impossible to over water, however, in 2009 we had a hurricane and a tropical storm in one week that caused my gourds to split.

Somewhere lurking on this site is a photo of the roots of an LG plant that were pulled up after the growing season. The roots ran in two directions and looked to be about 60 feet long. I believe the grower was from California. After seeing the pic, I stopped watering my LG, there's no way that I can water that much...LOL.

I think you talking about the 127.56 Urena 2007, the world record that year.

That's it Bob! Thanks. I'll see if I can provide a link to the photograph.
