...from my 100" LG of last season. It has wintered over outside in the barn standing upright still attached to travelling board. Pulp material had shrunken away from shell walls (about 1/8" thick) leaving a pretty tough fibrous sock still engulfing seeds requiring thumb kneading to free, still easier than harvesting seeds in fresh LG pulp. Probably about 60-40 ratio of mature to immature seeds. Relatively low seed count...est. 50-75 mature. Anyways...wondering if anyone has tried this and if so, what were the germination results? Better or worse than harvesting seeds in the Fall? Just some off-season meanderings.

Linden, Mi.,

I let my gourds dry over the winter (in my basement, wiping them down with bleach and water tell dry) then cut open to seeds. I did, this year, take seeds out soon after taking gourd down. Seeds , white did not fine out tell later, the seeds were not ready. (Bad thing, I think I send some out)

Had both immature (white seeds) and extremely dark mature seeds which have lightened up considerably after one day drying under a fan. Thanks Tallcorn.
