As the LG main vine start to get to the top of the trellis, how many prune back or off lower secondaries and females that are not going to reach the top of the trellis? In the past I have found that developing lower females take a lot of energy from the main vine and secondaries developing at the top. Like "deadheading" secondaries on the pumpkins would it not be wise to set a limit on lower secondary vines?
The first nodes(leaf, tendril, fruit) on the secondary's seem to be the "sweet spot" for females to form,if these females are pruned off have others experienced multiple females produced after the culled female on the same secondary?
thanks

Interesting question.

My vines are just starting to take off and produce side vines with females
