I local grower here,Ron Wallis, carefully follows his vine growth.
From 4pm July 2 to 4pm July 8 he got 60.5 inches---ave 10.08"/day.
Just wondering if others have similar growth??

Is he measuring growth of just one vine (the main?) or multiple vines? While I've never measured vine growth, I can honestly say I've never seen 10" per day on a single vine at any point in the season. My LG's are likely in the 3" per day range, just guessing.

I got started in this Hobby with Ron Wallis seeds, great to hear he's still competing at a high level. Say Hi for me! Not the statistician you guys are by any means...3 plants here this season...tallest hit the 10' horizontal trellis yesterday and today...eyeballing, she's easily 10"+ above...it's either the Jutras or Young plant.

That's impressive duff! Are these 10 inch per day LG's getting to the top of the trellis in 12 days or so? Do they start out this fast or does the 10 inch growth begin a little later?

My main vine is getting maybe 3-4 inches a day.
My side vines are getting less than that but growing nice.

My 124 Young is at about 17 feet in length and has averaged between 9 and 10 inches a day for last 3 days. Not sure if the agressive green growth will lead to a longer gourd but sure fun to watch a vigorous plant grow. This is in the same soil that momma grew in so it may make a difference in growth as well.

To 1320 --Yes,main vine only.We never measure the side vines.I don't bother to measure vine growth anymore myself but agree with VTJohn "it sure is fun to see a vigorous plant grow". I've learned a vigorous vine doesn't necessarily grow a vigorous LG,these things can be baffling.

10' growth only occurs after plant gets established and everything is right...weather, water, bugs, etc, God luck!

I havnt checked mine but, my 123.5 Jutras is up 13ft and across the 10ft top already. Probably will terminate today. I pollinated one back 8 ft from end last night, for kicks. 120.75 Boyce is probably 2ft from end. 124.38 6ft from end, and 107.5 Lariviere 5ft. They all took off, or I started way to early? Started seeds May 1st.
