I left two gourds last year when I first grew gourds on my main plant and culled the rest or they self culled.

I was thinking if you wanted maximum growth to cull all gourds but one?

Or can you leave two or three?

I asked the same question last year and really got no response. Last year I kept 3 lgs on the same plant with very good luck. One was a bit earlier at 110.75 inches and the other two were pollinated the same evening and turned out at 124 and 124.5 inches. I am planning on pollinating a few this year and keeping an eye on the growth rates. If I am not getting the growth rates I am hoping for I will cull a few.

I like to grow two.If the plant is in early to where the first fruit are done by mid august I'll let another batch of two grow late.I think they put there all into later season sets -johns Idea of tough love may be the way to go.

I left 6 gords on one season and they all stopped growth at 6 feet. Definitely too many! Gonna stay with one or two from now on.

The world record was grown on our second crop of the season. We did two per plant. One started in July and the second one in August. After the first one slows.
