What I have seen is a bell type curve with 6-7 inches max somewhere between 12-20 days old. Lgs seem to only grow 40 days or so. The key is to try to widen the greatest growth curve similar to pumpkin strategies.

Using averags from multi year(6) and and multi good (20) LGs,I find the top growth is from day 11 to day 17 where the average for a good one was 5.7"/day.
The peak period is close to day 14 when a really good one will give 21' in 3 days if prime weather occurs near day 14.
Other locations can have different results of course.
