Ok ....so I'll start ....is anyone hiding a big one ....will there be a new world record set this year? So how has the heat affected the gourds this year ....I'm guessing the heat had no bad effect....maybe I wrong! So am I just talking to myself ...is there anybody out there??

Grew a lot of gourds this year, only one over 100" Last year was a better year, at least for me.

I am sure there are a few longs ones kicking in the weeds out there. We will be at Topsfield Friday with our adequate one. We had one measured at our early fair that we will bring to GPC weigh off as an exhibition. It measured 122 7/8 inches. Best of luck to all long gourd growers! John

With the dry conditions I finally got some to grow without the brown fungus disease. It didn't start to set in until we got those August rains and then it wasn't too bad. No big size here; I need to get a better seed source.

Yeah ...I guessing there is .....I do know it's not at my place. I just moved to a new place this spring and didnt have time for any soil prep. But I did throw a couple of seeds in from my 116" last year. I currently have 2 over 100". I'm happy as hell with that .....watch out next year after this falls prep is done.

Had my best year ever. Got one at 120" from the 124.5 Young. New PB for me so i am very happy. These plants are a lot of fun to grow. I don't know all there is to growing them yet, but i have had a lot of fun the last two years. This year with mine and last year watching my buddies grow that was 114". I think it is his turn this next year. But i will do my best.
